“Lethal Weapon” fans may have not seen the last of Karen Palmer (Hilarie Burton) and Leo Getz (Thomas Lennon).

In a recent interview with TV Insider, series creator Matt Miller revealed that they have plans to bring back both characters in Season 2 of the FOX series.

“I love Hilarie and I would love for her to come back in Season 2,” Miller said. “She and I have spoken about it and she’s totally game. It’s literally a logistical question, because she has a kid and they live in upstate New York and her husband (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is on ‘The Walking Dead.’ I have to write the story to accommodate her calendar, which I’m more than willing to do so I’m very hopeful she’ll come back in Season 2.”

Miller revealed that the same is the case with Lennon. “I’ve spoken to Thomas about it and I would love, love, love for him to come back,” he said. “I think he was amazing! So our plan is certainly to bring him back.”

Burton’s Palmer was last seen in the penultimate episode of Season 1, in which she told Riggs (Clayne Crawford) that his wife’s death might not be an accident. Palmer thought that Gideon (Matt Passmore) was the one killed Miranda (Floriana Lima) — a speculation that was confirmed to be true in this week’s Season 1 finale.

Burton had a great time filming the show with Wayans and Crawford, so it wasn’t that surprising that she’s open to returning to the show next season.

“I can’t tell you how much I love Damon Wayans,” Burton told TVLine in November. “He was incredibly kind to me and I may have geeked out over my ’90s memories of ‘Major Payne’ and ‘In Living Color.’ He’s an icon!”

As for her experience working with Crawford, the actress said: “Clayne was so fun to play off of. We were a couple of rowdy Southern kids chasing bad guys!”

Lennon, who made his debut appearance as Getz in Season 1, episode 15, also enjoyed his stint on the show. “Working with the two of those guys [Wayans and Crawford] was an endless delight,” Lennon told Uproxx. “They’re so unbelievably funny, and also [have high] … level of dedication.”

When asked if he would like to reprise his role as Getz in the future, Lennon said: “It was one of the most fun shows I’ve been on in years, if not longer. Since doing my own show at least. [So] I would love to [come back]. … The only trick is the production schedule, which is basically a movie every nine days. Almost. It’s very intense.”
