LG Electronics Inc, the world's No. 2 flat-screen TV maker, expects flat-screen TV sales in North America, its biggest market, to be unchanged this year at 34 million units, an LG executive said on Wednesday.

We had a very good year (in 2010). Even in a flat year, we gained market share both in LCD and plasma (televisions) ... We expect a pretty flat market (for 2011), said Tim Alessi, head of LG's home entertainment product development for North America.

Sales during the Christmas holidays were strong, he said.

Alessi said LG expects sales of 30 million LCD TVs and 4 million plasma TVs in North America in 2011.

The South Korean firm on Wednesday repeated its previous global flat-screen TV sales guidance for 2011 at 40 million, including 35 million LCD TVs.
