The LG G5 has been launched with a unique modular design along with metallic chassis. The iPhone 6S Plus is one of the most desired smartphones at present. The specification, features and price of the LG G5 has been compared with that of iPhone 6S Plus to find out which one is a better device.

Design and Display

The LG G5 comes with a full metal unibody chassis. Its modular design extends its capabilities by allowing users to easily attach different kinds of accessories to the smartphone such as camera, VR headset, DAC for audio and more. It measures 149 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm and weighs 159 grams.

The Apple iPhone 6S Plus also features a full metallic design, it lacks for adding modules. It is bigger and slimmer than the LG G5 as its dimensions are 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and it weighs 192 grams.

The LG G5 has a Quad HD resolution support IPS LCD of 5.3-inch. It offers a pixel count of 554 ppi. It delivers a screen-to-body ratio of 70.1 percent. The iPhone 6S Plus has a 5.5-inch has a LED-backlit IPS LCD that offers full HD resolution that offers a pixel density of 401 ppi. The screen-to-body ratio of iPhone 6S Plus is 67.7 percent.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The LG G5 is powered by Snapdragon 820 which includes dual-core Kyro CPU of 2.15 GHz and dual-core Kyro CPU of 1.6 GHz along with Adreno 530 graphics. It is supported by 4 GB of RAM. The native storage of the device is of 32 GB. It comes with a dedicated storage slot that supports up to 200 GB of microSD card.

The iPhone 6S Plus is powered by Apple A9 chipset that includes a dual-core 1.84 GHz Twister processor that is accompanied by PowerVR GT7600 graphics. It comes in storage editions like 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. It does not feature a dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera, Software and Other Features

There is a dual camera setup that constitutes of 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras on LG G5’s rear panel. It comes with features like laser autofocus, OIS and LED flash. For shooting selfies, the front side of the device features an 8-megpixel camera.

The 12-megapixel rear camera of iPhone 6S Plus is equipped with features like OIS, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. Its selfie snapper is of 5-megapixel.

The LG G5 runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS that is customized with LG Optimus UX 5.0 UI. The iPhone 6S Plus comes preloaded with iOS 9 The LG G5 comes with a USB Type-C connector and it also supports USB OTG. Both LG G and iPhone 6S Plus are equipped with a fingerprint sensor.

Battery and Price

There is a 2800 mAh removable battery inside the LG G5. The iPhone 6S Plus has a slightly smaller non-removable battery of 2750 mAh. The 32 GB LG G5 is rumored to be priced at $599 whereas the iPhone 6S Plus with 16 GB, 32 GB and 128 GB are respectively priced at $749, $849 and $949.
