One Direction members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have made their fans worry when a video of Payne pushing Tomlinson onstage showed up online.

In the Vine video, 23-year-old Tomlinson, seems to have playfully punched Payne in the crotch. Payne, 22, gets back at Tomlinson by shoving him away onstage, at a recent show they had in Manchester Arena, People reported. The incident happened while their bandmate Harry Styles was singing their early hit, "What Makes You Beautiful."

After seeing the clip, fans rushed in defending Tomlinson, while reprimanding Payne for his harshness. Different media outlets also did not control themselves in expressing their anger over the 1D member's aggression, as they have scolded Payne.

"Don't get us wrong being a multi-millionaire, super-talented boyband member with everything you could ever possibly want at your fingertips must be REALLY hard. But surely you could keep your temper in check for just a couple of hours while you’re working," a post from Heat World said.

On Monday, Payne cleared the issue on social media by tweeting his response to the fans’ backlash after a seemingly harmless encounter between him and Tomlinson.

He tweeted, "Simply the funniest story I’ve read to date clearly the person who wrote this has never experienced friendly banter in their life."

In a separate tweet he posted, "OH MY GOD THAT’S SO OUTRAGEOUS HOW DARE I HAVE A JOKE WITH A FRIEND ON STAGE."

Payne’s loyal fans came into his defense and have responded to his tweet. One of them wrote, "Haters are gonna hate. Love you @Real_Liam_Payne and @Louis_Tomlinson! Remember, no one can #DragMeDown," quoted E!Online. The hashtag was in reference to the group's single from their latest album, "Made in the A.M." which will be released on Nov. 13.

While there may be some fans who are still mad at the incident, it seems like it was no big deal among the members of One Direction. Payne is the only member of the group who have spoken about the issue, but maybe, the rest of the band really don't mind on the issue at all.
