Luxury Cars: After making its debut at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, the all-new Lincoln MKX has everyone talking. While the MKX comes equipped with many of the same comforts as last year's release, the 2011 model takes innovation to a whole new level. From a new 3.7-liter V6 engine to the highly-engineered MyLincoln interfacing system, the 2011 Lincoln MKX features a wide array of new technological advancements.
With Ford's new 305-horsepower, 3.7-liter Duramax V-6 engine under the hood, the MKX packs quite a punch. The enhanced powertrain system delivers 280 pound-feet of torque - a 12 percent improvement over the 2010 model - yet is still capable of an unprecedented 25 mpg on the highway. Ford has announced that this new powerful engine will be the same base engine used in the 2011 Ford Mustang. Available in either front or all-wheel drive, the MKX also features a new six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, designed for sport driving, as well as additional improvements to the vehicle's brake system.
While the upgraded powertrain system is undeniably impressive, the MKX's overall aesthetics do not go unnoticed. The new MKX features a new spilt-wing grill, two-piece LED taillights, 4-inch oval exhaust tips, and 18-inch tires with revised shocks and springs. The 2011 model also comes equipped with new safety features such as an adaptive cruise control and collision warning system, a blind spot information system, a cross-traffic alert system, as well as MyKey, which serves as a parental control of sorts, allowing the driver to preset options such as top speed and maximum stereo volume.
As part of the new Lincoln design, the interior features leather-trimmed, climate-controlled seating, revamped contouring and stitching throughout, luxurious aluminum trim, and of course, Lincoln's signature tuxedo stripe. Additional creature comforts include voice activation software, a heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, a state-of-the-art media hub with two USB ports, video input jacks and an SD Card Reader, as well as the highly anticipated MyLincoln Touch system, which controls everything from navigation to climate control.
With intuitive features backed by an unrivaled powertrain, the all-new Lincoln MKX is no doubt a force to be reckoned with.
