Lindsay Lohan, appearing for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, announced her upcoming psychological thriller, “Inconceivable.”

The 27-year-old star, who is also the producer of the $5 million budget film, was joined by Emmett/Furla Films Chief Executive Randall Emmett, who reportedly said that he chose Sundance to make the announcement of the film as it was “just a special place for us” and called Lohan “one of the greatest young actresses of her generation.”

Lohan has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse for years and is currently on probation for a felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace and for lying to police about a car crash. She emerged from her latest rehab stint last year.

"I've never had the honor of coming here before ... to bring something to the table, which is starting fresh for me," Lohan reportedly said. "And I'm filming my Oprah docu-series right now, so I get to that to the people who have been watching that as well.”

"It's a nice change to be back among people that are in the industry that I've been in since I was a kid," she added. Lohan is currently shooting a documentary series for the Oprah Winfrey Network that is scheduled for a March 9 release.

Emmett reportedly said that Lohan will select the director and the cast for the film, adding that people “are going to really be shocked when they see Lindsay take this role on." Although no co-star for the movie has been currently announced, Lohan said that she had approached Juliette Lewis for the project and that Jessica Lange was her dream co-star.

According to reports, Lohan said: "It's therapeutic for me to throw myself into something that really excites me and something that I love to do so much." The actress was an executive producer for her 2013 film, “The Canyons.”

"There's nothing better than having seen all of your ideas and thoughts that you've been thinking about to come to fruition and to share that with people. I think that's why I've always loved making movies so much. So it's nice to be able to have another position in the film rather than just showing up and being on the set."
