Trouble has found beleaguered starlet Lindsay Lohan once again.

TMZ reports that Lohan was arrested outside a New York nightclub after striking a fellow clubgoer early Thursday morning.

Police say the 26-year-old “Mean Girls” actress became involved in a verbal argument with a woman at the club Avenue. The victim reportedly was sitting in a booth near Lohan's when the actress asked her to give her some space.

Time passed and then, for an unknown reason, Lohan walked up to the woman and punched her in the left side of her face.

When police arrived, Lohan was already in a car leaving the club. Police intercepted the vehicle and detained Lohan. She was booked for third degree misdemeanor assault and given a desk appearance ticket before being released several hours later. She will appear in court at a later date.

Lohan's Thursday arrest is one of many recent run-ins with the law for the troubled star. In September, she was accused of hitting a New York pedestrian with her vehicle outside the Dream Hotel, though those charges were later dropped. That same month she also accused a former congressional staffer of choking her at the W Union Square Hotel, though charges against the suspect were never pursued.

TMZ is also reporting that Lohan will faces charges following a June incident in California where she allegedly lied to police regarding a car accident.

Then, last month, in Long Island, police were called to Lohan's mother's home after they received reports of a loud argument in the early morning hours. No arrests were made.

Despite her legal troubles, Lohan has attempted to resurrect her acting career, appearing in the Lifetime movie “Liz and Dick” alongside icon Elizabeth Taylor. While Reuters reports that the film was watched by 3.5 million viewers, it was largely panned by critics.
