Lindsay Lohan is set to host NBC's Saturday Night Live on March 3rd. This will be the star's fourth time hosting. She first hosted the late night sketch comedy show in 2004 at the age of 17, and most recently hosted in May 2007. The episode will also mark Jack White's first performance as a solo artist, and his second time playing on SNL--The White Stripes performed in 2002 when Senator John McCain hosted.

Saturday Night Live broke the news simultaneously with an on-air promo and a tweet from the show's official twitter account: That's right: March 3rd, @lindsaylohan with music guest Jack White!! See you then! #SNL #March3rd.

Lohan tweeted the same news soon afterwards, posting SNL! I love @NBC !!!!!!!!!!!!

The actresses later tweeted at frequent SNL host Alec Baldwin, posting, @alecbaldwin...I think it would be amazing if you would consider doing a walk on for my snl.. no? Baldwin has yet to reply to the tweet.

Lohan has struggled in her personal and professional life in recent years, and it is likely that her streak of bad decisions and frequent court appearances will serve as fodder for some of the night's sketches.

However, the movie star's career appears to be on an upswing. At her most recent court appearance, which lasted less than five minutes, she received her second good probation report in a row. She is currently doing court-mandated cleanup at a county morgue and attending regular therapy sessions.

Just keep doing what you're doing, Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan at the probation update. You appear to be doing it well.

The 25-year old actress was also recently photographed in Playboy in the style of Marilyn Monroe's 1953 spread, and reportedly paid nearly $1 million for the shoot.

Lindsay is very much looking forward to hosting SNL and working with the incredible cast, crew and writers to put on a memorable show, her publicist Steve Honig told CNN.

The show will also mark an important transition in Jack White's career. The SNL performance will be his first as a solo artist, following his announcement that he will release the first Jack White album, titled Blunderbuss, on April 23rd. After appearing on Saturday Night Live, White will launch his first solo tour with four schedulef stops at Chattanooga Track 29 (March 10), Birmingham WorkPlay Soundstage (March 12), Memphis New Daisy Theatre (March 13), Tulsa Cain's Ballroom (March 15). The album's first single, Love Interruption, already has a music video.
