Lindsay Lohan's infamous Playboy cover has leaked on Twitter and the results are red hot.
In the shot, Lohan is sitting in a red Playboy Bunny chair (which strategically covers certain parts) against a red curtain backdrop. The actress wears nothing but a pair of black pumps and fiery red lipstick. With her blonde hair in full voluminous curls, the 25-year-old looks innocently into the camera, evoking a calm presence similar to that of her icon Marilyn Monroe.
However, Crushable suggests that Monroe is not the inspiration but rather a prostitute by the name of Christine Keeler. We can't help but wonder if Lindsay's photo is a tribute to the series of iconic chair-straddling picture taken of famous 1960s prostitute Christine Keeler. Christine was a London call girl who famously had an affair with married British War Secretary John Profumo, writes Leane Maeby.
Although the scandal ruined the Secretary's career and forced his resignation, it propelled Christine to fame. The nude photos were taken by photographer Lewis Morley to promote a film called The Keeler Affair, and the chair only came into play because Catherine was shy about appearing totally naked.
The big reveal, which was scheduled for Dec. 15 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has been thwarted after a photo of the cover was posted on the social networking site.
Lohan was reportedly paid $1 million for the spread, which appears in the magazine's holiday anniversary issue. The title is simply Lindsay.
The actress had to pose twice for the photos, after the first results were deemed insufficient. But Playboy was extremely satisified with the final product.
Playboy don Hugh Hefner spoke about the photos, which will appear in the January/February issue of the magazine.
It's a classic tribute, inspired by the original Tom Kelley nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe. [It's] classy, very classy, the New York Post reported.
It turned out very well. I would say that I had some reservations early on, but after a couple of false steps, everybody came on board and it's going to be very exciting, Hefner added.
Lindsay's mother, Dina, approved of the shots.
Speaking to The Insider host Christina McLarty she said: It was an opportunity for her and she's done thousands and thousands of covers, so this was just something...she's 25 now. It was just something that was her decision...we have a contractual say in how far it goes and her and Mr. Hefner will decide.
She'll pick five covers, he'll pick the one, but she has a say. I don't want to get into the contract, but it will be tastefully done.
As for Lohan, her reputation precedes her. She is notorious for her slew of legal woes, which began in 2007 after a DUI. She was released from her 30-day sentence last month after just four and a half hours behind bars. Her sentencing requires that she undergo 18 psychotherapy sessions and appear monthly in court between Dec. 2011 and March 2012. She must also complete more community service hours, reports The Daily Mail.
