Skier Lindsey Vonn has vowed that she will be competition ready for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games next February.

The skiing champion is currently recovering from her horrific fall while competing in the Alpine Ski World Championships on the slopes in Austria earlier this month, where she suffered a torn ACL and MCL in her knee, as well as a broken bone.

“I have no doubt I will be ready for Sochi,” Vonn said Monday on NBC's "Today" show, according to the Los Angeles Times. "Honestly, in a worst-case scenario, if I trained a week before the games, I’d be fine."

After a successful surgery and beginning rehabilitation almost immediately, Vonn is confident that her leg will be fully mended in order for her to compete in the upcoming Olympics, where she will defend her Olympic downhill title from the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Vonn’s doctors have also confirmed that she has a good chance of making a full and speedy recovery, projecting she should be ready to hit the slopes again at least by November.

“The overall success rate for ACL/MCL surgery is very good. Modern surgical techniques combined with aggressive rehabilitation will help Lindsey make a full recovery,” Dr. Bill Sterett, the physician for the U.S. Ski Team that performed her surgery, said in a statement. “She will do everything in her power to return as quickly as possible to competitive skiing.”

According to the skier, loose snow, in addition to foggy weather conditions, contributed to her crash.

"Basically, what happened was I came into that jump going a little bit faster, or I don't know if I just hit the jump wrong, but I feel like I flew a lot further than the other girls,'' Vonn told “Today.”

"When I landed, the snow was just different. The snow was soft. It was not slick, basically, and my right ski just stopped, and my knee buckled. I feel that loose snow was 100 percent the reason why I crashed,” she continued. “I initially thought it was going to be worse. There was just so much pain that I couldn’t quite tell where exactly it was coming from.”

Now knowing the extent of her injuries, Vonn has taken to social media, sharing several photos of her recovery, including one of her doing rehabilitation exercises, of her leg freshly out of its cast, and one of her X-ray, showing the pin that is now placed in her knee. She has received tremendous support and well wishes from thousands of fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Vonn was also questioned about rumors on a relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods. Just before her accident, several photos of the two together sparked suggestions that they were a couple. However, Vonn told "Today" that she currently is more focused on her injuries and recovery than addressing relationship rumors.

"I'm only two weeks out from the worst injury I've had in my career. At this point, I'm just not going to talk about my personal life,'' she said.
