Tuesday, the Statistics Lithuania said in a report that the gross domestic product or GDP at current prices slipped 12.6% year-on-year in the first quarter, faster than a 2% fall in the fourth quarter. On a seasonal and working day adjusted basis, the GDP dropped 10.9% annually in the first quarter.

Sequentially, the GDP dipped 9.5% in the first quarter compared to a 6.6% fall in the fourth quarter.

In a separate report, the statistical office said the turnover of retail trade enterprises dropped 30.8% year-on-year in March. Month-on-month, the turnover was up 6.5%.

In the January to March period, turnover of retail trade enterprises dipped 30% compared with the same period in the previous year.
