Friday, the Statistics Lithuania announced that the retail trade turnover plunged 29.8% year-over-year in the January to February period, in contrast to a 22.4% rise in the corresponding period of the previous year.

At the same time, the turnover in wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles dipped 57.2%, while turnover of enterprises trading in automotive fuel decreased 19.2%.

In February, retail trade turnover dropped 32% annually, and it was down 5.3% compared to the previous month.
