Thursday, the Statistics Lithuania said in a report that the trade deficit stood at LTL281.3 million in February, up from a deficit of LTL142.2 million in January. A year earlier, in February, the trade deficit was LTL1.5 billion.

Exports fell 1.9% month-on-month in February to LTL3.1 billion, while imports were up 2.4% to LTL3.38 billion.

In the January-February period, the trade deficit stood at LTL0.42 billion compared to a deficit of LTL3.33 billion in the corresponding period of last year. Exports dropped 21.8% annually during this period, while imports fell 41%.
