Supermodel Liu Wen made her official debut as an Estée Lauder global spokesmodel in Beijing to launch the brand's new 'Pure Color' makeup collection.

The model, who hails from China, was announced as the global face of the brand earlier this year in April. Having walked the ramp for a number of luxury brands like Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier, Liu has emerged as an international name and has even appeared recently on the cover of Chinese Vogue.

Liu has, in fact, become a fixture on the runways of New York, Milan and Paris, walking a total of 48 shows for the Spring/Summer 2011 season.

The launch of the exclusive limited-edition 'Pure Color' makeup collection was done at the prestigious Ch'ianmen 23 in Central Beijing, where Liu was joined by Estée Lauder executives Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President; Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President and Creative Director; and Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director.

Liu Wen represents the new face of global beauty. We are thrilled to celebrate her official debut for Estée Lauder here in Beijing, said Lauder.

The new collection, which was designed keeping the modern Chinese woman in mind, includes pastel shades and crystalline lip colors.

China is our fastest growing market. We are certain Liu Wen will resonate with the brand's Chinese consumers as well as our consumers around the world, said Hertzmark Hudis in a statement.

At the launch of the collection, an advertising image of Liu shot by world-renowned photographer Craig McDean was also unveiled. Featuring a makeup look by Tom Pecheux, the image has been created specifically for China revealing Liu as an image of delicate sophistication.
