After witnessing the fate of Argentina on Saturday night, main rival will Brazil want to avoid an upset on Sunday at Ciudad de la Plata, when the football giants face Paraguay in the quarterfinals of Copa America.

Brazil has shot out to become the favorites of the South American tournament, with Uruguay a close second after the World Cup 2010 semifinalists defeated Argentina on penalty kicks.

When Brazi and Paraguay met in group play, Neymar was replaced for Fred, and the substitute forward scored in the 89th minute to save Brazil from a loss with the 2-2 result.

Head coach Mano Menezes doesn't want Sunday's match to come down to that. Brazil will be expected to put more pressure on the Paraguay goal, and not allow defensive mistakes as they did in the first encounter. More pressure will be on Ramires to open up chances for the forwards.

Paraguay boasts one of the best defenses in South America. Before the Brazil match last week, Paraguay had shut out opponents in four of their previous five matches.

The underdog Paraguayans are led by forwards Nelson Valdes and Roque Santa Cruz, both of whom scored in the July 9th match with Brazil.

After lackluster play in the first two games from duo Neymar and Alexandre Pato, the forward tandem broke out against Ecuador with two goals a piece. They will be expected to maintain their strong efforts in the knockout rounds, and have a challenge awaiting them in Paraguay's steady central defenders.

Like Saturday's matches, expect Paraguay and Brazil to play with great intensity.
