The Trinamool Congress is headed for a historic win after establishing leads in 215 of the 294 seats in West Bengal as per the latest reports.

Bouquets have started arriving at the Trinamool Congress office. The big question is whether the Trinamool Congress will get the magic half-way number of 148 alone or will it need ally Congress support to make it.

The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress was ahead in 177 seats while its alliance partner Congress was ahead in 38 constituencies.

For the Left Front, the CPI(M) was leading in 47 seats, its ally CPI in three, Forward Bloc in 13 and RSP in four. BJP was ahead in one seat and an independent in one.

West Bengal has 294 assembly seats. The counting is taking place in 312 counting halls in the state.
