Liverpool are believed to be eyeing up French forward Loic Remy following Queens Park Rangers’ relegation from the Premier League this weekend.

The Daily Express is one of several sources to report on Liverpool’s interest in the 26-year-old, who has scored five goals in 11 appearances since his January move from Marseille. After QPR’s relegation was confirmed on Sunday, Remy looks set to be one of the big earners to leave the club. Remy has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for £8 million if the club went down.

According to the Express, Liverpool see Remy as the ideal man to cover for Luis Suarez. The club’s top scorer received a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic and will miss the first six games of next season. It seems doubtful, however, that Liverpool would spend such a sum on a player who will likely go back to being a bit-part player once Suarez returns.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that Remy is not being lined up as a replacement for Suarez. The Daily Telegraph reports that Bayern Munich will push hard to sign the Uruguayan this summer based on the belief that they will miss out on a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski.

Speculation linking Suarez with a move away from the club has increased since the furor over his bite. Bayern have long been identified as an admirer of the 26-year-old and the club’s manager for next season, Pep Guardiola, is the brother of Suarez’s agent, Pere.

In other news, one of Guardiola’s former charges at Barcelona Isaac Cuenca has again been mentioned in connection with a potential move to Liverpool.

Long linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal, the 22-year-old forward came to prominence in a breakthrough season with the Catalans last term. He has barely featured this campaign, however, due to injury. Fitness problems have continued to plague him since moving on loan to Ajax in January but Cuenca has said that he wants to remain with the Dutch club next season.

“I hope to be able to stay for another year at Ajax -- and Barcelona know this too,” he told De Telegraaf. “Because of injury I have not been able to play much, but next season could be important."

Liverpool are thought to be one of a number of clubs trailing Sevilla central defender Federico Fazio. The 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has been linked with the Reds and Arsenal, reports Sky Sports.

According to the Argentina international’s agent, there is interest in Fazio from across Europe. “In January the club rejected offers from Germany and Russia but in the summer they could be looking at making millions of Euros," Ariel Kiperszmid said, according to Sky Sports.

"There are four Italian teams interested in him and Serie A could be a good destination for him, but there are also admirers in England.

"Fede could play for one of Europe's top teams."

A center-back is likely to be targeted by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers this summer with Jamie Carragher retiring and doubts about the futures of Sebastian Coates and Martin Skrtel.
