NEW YORK - Aluminum and zinc futures rallied more than 5 percent in after-hours business on Wednesday in London, fueled by a depressed dollar and improved economic outlook, traders said.

Aluminum MAL3 for three-month delivery on the London Metal Exchange climbed as high as $1,942.75 a tonne, up $108.75 or nearly 6 percent, while zinc MZN3 futures raced $97, or 5.2 percent, higher to a late peak at $1,958 a tonne. (Reporting by Chris Kelly)
