For Roy Williams, erasing last season's miserable record is already complete.

The Tar Heels had a record of 16-16, and failed to make the NCAA Tournament in 2009. This year, however, not only are they back in the tournament, but they're the No. 2 seed in the East Region.

Roy Williams team finished on a low note by losing to rival Duke. However, with a 26-7 record, they've been stronger than some predicted.

Tonight, they face 15th-seed Long Island University, located in Brooklyn, New York, in Charlotte.

The Tar Heels would have a major advantage over the Blackbirds on any court, but with the game being played in their home state you may not fault the team for perhaps looking ahead to playing the winner of Washington and Georgia in the third round.

Long Island finished the season with a record of 27 wins and five losses, but lacked a win against a top opponent.

The Blackbirds are led by Julian Boyd, David Hicks, and Jamal Olasewere. The trio are averaging over double digits in points per game.

Long Island lack a player over 6'7 who gets major playing time.

Of all the 32 games, this matchup could be the most one sided.

North Carolina has a great deal of firepower, and will likely use it in the first half.

Center Tyler Zeller is averaging 14.5 points per game, and a little more than seven rebounds.

He's joined in the front court by Harrison Barnes, who is averaging 15 points per game. Barnes is considered among the most talented freshmen in the nation.

John Henson is a terror on the boards, averaging 10.4 per game.

The game tips off at about 7:15.
