New information has surfaced, providing a look inside the night that "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards was arrested. The 50-year-old, who has suffered with alcohol addiction in the past, was taken into custody April 16 after Beverly Hills Police responded to a call from Beverly Hills Hotel security claiming she was causing a scene. Richards had reportedly grown angry after being asked to leave the Polo Lounge, a hot-spot among celebrities and socialites, for appearing too drunk.

According to Us Weekly Richards, who had been out to dinner prior to being arrested, did not begin drinking until her friends left the hotel. The magazine's sources say the "RHOBH" cast member hit the bar, where she quickly "became loud, yelling and laughing at other people." One source says fellow Polo Lounge patrons refused to sit next to the reality TV star as "they didn't want to be on the receiving end of her comments." Bartenders attempted to step in, cutting her off and asking her to leave, but it wasn't enough. They were forced to call security, further fanning the flames.

Police arrested Richards at 2:04 a.m. PDT. While in police custody she reportedly kicked an officer. Although he was not injured, authorities charged the former child star with battery. She was released with a citation shortly after 10:30 a.m. PDT and will stand before a judge June 11.

In the meantime Richards is preparing to sit down with Dr. Phil McGraw on "The Dr. Phil Show." During the episode she and McGraw will discuss the night of her arrest as well as her issues with alcohol more in depth. Richards will reportedly accept full responsibility for her actions saying, "none of this would have happened if I didn't drink."

"I was angry and frightened and I was scared. I knew what I had done," she said.

It remains unclear whether she has now, or ever intends to, check herself back into rehab. Richards previously sought treatment in 2011, checking into an undisclosed facility from December to January. She claims to have been sober since then, though production sources tell TMZ that is untrue. They allege that she was drinking throughout Season 5 of "RHOBH," saying her co-stars learned to look the other way to avoid confrontation.

NBC Universal executives are said to be discussing her removal from the hit reality series. According to TMZ, execs claim Richards is a liability now that she is drinking again. They are reportedly not interested in moving forward with her on the show unless she gets help.

Richards has kept tight-lipped about the incident in the days that have followed. However, her fellow "Housewives" and others close to her have shared messages of encouragement for her and her family.

Richard's interview on "The Dr. Phil Show" airs April 28. Check local listings for times and network availability.
