‘Lucifer’
How can Lucifer (Tom Ellis) save Chloe (Lauren German) in “Lucifer” Season 2? FOX

“Lucifer” Season 2, episode 12 saw Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) finally finding out the truth about Chloe (Lauren German). But before this emotional revelation, the partners first had the chance to feel what it’s like to fall in love.

In “Love Handles,” Chloe tries to make sense of her and Lucifer’s new relationship status. After all, they kissed for the first time just a few days ago. Chloe has become more flirtatious towards Lucifer, and the lead character couldn’t help but feel confused over her behavior. At one point, Chloe tells Lucifer that they should just focus on their work since what she’s been trying to do to get Lucifer to be sweet towards her is clearly not working out.

Elsewhere in the episode, Tim DeKay’s villainous character, Professor Jacob Carlisle, finally makes an appearance. He has been on a mission to prove to the world that he’s not a monster. But this has become impossible to do since he’s been asking professionals to sacrifice a part of themselves so he could give his antidote to those he has punished days before.

Lucifer and Chloe were keen on stopping the professor from killing more innocent individuals. Chloe runs after Professor Carlisle, and the farther they went, the more time Lucifer had to save those who were about to die. Lucifer bleeds out whenever Chloe is around, so in order to enter a poisoned room without dying, the latter must be very far away from him. In the end, the professor kills himself, and both Lucifer and Chloe survive.

After their run-in with the professor, Chloe appears to be very happy to see Lucifer alive and well. She hugs him tightly, and Lucifer realizes that the feelings they have for each other are real after all. But when Lucifer reunites with his mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), at the bar, he finds a photo of Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) talking to Chloe’s mom from years ago. Charlotte tells Lucifer the truth about Chloe, and he realizes that God put her on his path to test him.

Lucifer arrives at Chloe’s apartment to ask her if she knows about Amenadiel’s deed 35 years ago. But Lucifer is shocked to see Chloe’s nose bleeding profusely. She tells him that she feels like she’s in danger, and Lucifer would have to set his personal feelings aside to help save Chloe.

“Lucifer” Season 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
