A search is underway to find missing "Dexter" actress Mabel Pantaleon, who disappeared Sunday from her Harlem apartment in New York City after confronting her family and accusing them of being terrorists amid reports that the 31-year-old has a history of mental illness.

Pantaleon, 31, was last seen 9 a.m. Sunday on West 157th Street near Amsterdam Avenue, cops told the New York Post. The paper said Pantaleon may be driving a silver 2004 Toyota Camry.

Sylvia Pantheleon, the actress' mother, said Mabel Pantaleon is on medication and has a history of manic-depressive disorder, according to ABC News. Her mother said she may have stopped taking the medication.

"She was staying with me. She saw something on the Internet and got very upset, and she started saying a lot of weird things," Sylvia Pantaleon said. "She said, 'I'm leaving from here, all of you are terrorists, you're not my mother. I knew it wasn't her."

Pantaleon's family is growing increasingly concerned because she has no close friends or a boyfriend, her mother told ABC News.

"That was one of her problems. She doesn't have friends, she doesn't have boyfriends," her mother said.

No foul play is suspected in Mabel Pantaleon's disappearance, sources told the New York Post.

The budding actress was last seen wearing a red shirt with "Drake" on the front, the paper said. She is 5-foot-7, weighs about 165 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

According to Mabel Pantaleon's profile on IMDB.com, she attended the New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn and left the school's nursing program early to pursue an acting career.

That career has not taken off as Mabel Pantaleon only has seven acting credits to her name, the latest coming in a 2008 episode of the hit Showtime series "Dexter" titled "Our Father." She played a server in the episode.

Also in 2008, Mabel Pantaleon played a nurse on television series "Mystery ER."
