Visitor arrivals into Macau grew 30.9% year-on-year in March to 551,010, a report by the Statistics and Census Service or the DSEC said Wednesday.

During the month, visitor arrivals from Mainland China rose 43.5%, and those from Taiwan increased 39.4%. Further, tourist arrivals from Japan, Thailand and Malaysia increased by 17.7%, 19.1% and 16.7% respectively in March. However, visitor arrivals from Hong Kong declined 16.3%.

In the first quarter, tourist arrivals grew by 14.3% to 1.36 million from the same period in the previous year.
