Fresh rumors suggest that the MacBook Pro 2016 as well as MacBook Air 2016 will be announced in this month. Both the devices are expected to be available for purchase by August.

Citing information from Wednesday’s report from Macotakara, Apple Insider has reported that Apple will be announcing 2016 editions of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in this month. However, it is unclear whether the devices will be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 that will be held between June 13 and June 17.

Apple has already refreshed its MacBook Air series by launching a minor update of 8 GB of RAM for its 13-inch variant. Previous rumors have suggested that Apple will not be upgrading the MacBook Air lineup as it has planned to make it available as entry-level product.

It is interesting to note that Macotakara’s report has claimed that Apple is building a new MacBook Air with 15-inch screen. The Cupertino has never released a 15-inch MacBook Air before. Hence, it may be possible that the alleged 15-inch MacBook Air would actually launch as the new 15-inch variant of MacBook Pro 2016.

Speculations are rife that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be arriving with a thinner design like the MacBook devices. Apple is expected to unleash 13-inch and 15-inch editions of MacBook Pro 2016 with USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to feature Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The Cupertino company is expected to replace the function keys with OLED touch-sensitive bar on its traditional keyboard.

Recent rumors have suggested that the WWDC 2016 will be software-centric event that will be all about revealing new features of iOS 10, OS X 10.12, watchOS and tvOS. Hence, the company won’t be announcing any new hardware at the WWDC 2016. It will be held at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco starting at 1:00 p.m. ET.
