Maci Bookout Baby Name Revealed: What ‘Teen Mom OG’ Star And Fiancé Will Call Third Child

Pregnant “Teen Mom OG” star Maci Bookout has chosen a name for baby No. 3 at last. Previously, the reality TV star said she was thinking about Connor or Maverick for her little boy. While her fiancé, Taylor McKinney, was keen on the more traditional name, Bookout favored the alternative moniker that was famously featured in “Top Gun.” Ultimately, the Tennessee native got her way: The couple decided on Maverick Reed.

“Maverick was actually one of our boy name choices when we were pregnant with Jayde before we knew it was a girl,” the red-haired star told MTV News Wednesday. “Reed is a family name for both our families. We were also considering Connor for the first name, but we decided Maverick went better with the names Bentley and Jayde.” Maverick Reed is due May 30.

But a new baby isn’t the only thing the couple is expecting in their future. After months of her pushing him to propose, McKinney asked Bookout to make him an honest man in January. The proposal was caught by MTV's cameras, of course, and will probably be featured on the “Teen Mom OG” series.

“I honestly don’t think it has actually hit me yet,” Bookout exclusively told MTV News in January. “But I am very excited and feel super blessed that I get to marry Taylor. He’s an amazing man and dad.”

She continued: “When he asked me to marry him, I was in complete shock. I couldn’t believe that it was actually happening, and to be honest, I couldn’t believe that he had pulled it off without me figuring it out … because I usually know everything!”

“Teen Mom 2,” the sister series to “Teen Mom OG,” airs Monday at 10 p.m. EDT on MTV.
