On July 4, when America observes the day it gained its independence from Great Britain, U.S. citizens celebrate their freedom by barbequing some classic American food and most definitely watching fireworks. For those who aren’t able to actually attend a pyrotechnic display, "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" is hosting a live show on NBC Thursday.

Macy’s puts on one of the best shows in the country and live stream footage of the event on Thursday night can be viewed by clicking this link. All the fun starts at 8/7c.

Don’t expect to see just fireworks, however. Macy’s has a little more in store for viewers to help ring in America’s birthday. There will be all-star musical performances by Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Usher and Tim McGraw.

"Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" will be hosted by Nick Cannon of “America’s Got Talent.” For those who miss the event, an encore presentation will be aired at 10/9c on NBC.

This is the 37th annual firework show for Macy’s, and it’s the largest pyrotechnic display in the nation, according to NBC. More than 40 thousand fireworks will be ignited on Thursday to observe the patriotic holiday.

Macy’s also has a special treat for viewers this year. Usher, who has won eight Grammys, helped design some of the show. For the first time in the history of this amazing spectacle, a superstar artist is collaborating with Macy's creative and pyrotechnic teams. “From the rousing musical selections to the spectacular fireworks in the sky, Usher is putting his visionary stamp on the nation's biggest Independence Day party,” Macy's noted.
