The Madden 13 cover vote is up to the last two players.

The finalists are standout Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Newton, who broke the rookie record for passing yards in a season (4,051) in 2011, will become seventh quarterback to grace the cover if he wins. Johnson, who led all receivers in yards last season with 1,681, would only be the second wide receiver to grace the cover after Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald appeared alongside Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu on the cover of Madden 10.

Both Newton and Johnson have had dominant paths to reach the Madden 13 cover vote final. Newton has beaten the likes of Tampa Bay Buccaneers runningback LeGarrette Blount (receiving 87 percent of the vote), San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates (receiving 83 percent), Fitzgerald (receiving 70 percent) and San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis (receiving 53 percent). Johnson has beaten the likes of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe (receiving 92 percent of the vote), Houston Texans runningback Arian Foster (receiving 73 percent), New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (receiving 63 percent) and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (receiving 67 percent).

Newton might be the sexier pick because he is younger and made a splash in his rookie campaign. However, Johnson may be the more deserved one because he's worked to probably become the best receiver in the game. Nevertheless, the winner will be revealed on SportsNation on Apr. 25 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
