Maddie Ziegler will no longer compete with Abby Lee Miller’s elite junior team after the “Dance Moms” Season 6 finale. Lifetime

It’s the end of an era. Next week’s installment of “Dance Moms” will be the last for Mackenzie Ziegler and Maddie Ziegler. Before the siblings take their final bows on the Lifetime series, get the scoop on what to expect in the Season 6 finale.

In episode 18, titled “One Last Dance,” the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) will prepare to say goodbye to the Ziegler family as its members practice routines for an appearance at New York Dance Experience in Riverside, California. But, as expected, Abby Lee Miller won’t allow the sisters’ final week with the elite junior team to be drama-free. “It’s Maddie and Mackenzie’s very last dance, and that’s not sitting well with Abby,” dance mom Jill Vertes says in the episode’s promotional video.

Maddie and Mackenzie’s mother, Melissa Gisoni, will also struggle in saying goodbye in the finale. The synopsis reveals she’ll be prompted to “stand up to Abby” by other moms after the coach decides to shift her focus to a new team member. Unfortunately for the moms, Melissa will direct her anger toward them instead. “She takes out her frustration on the wrong person,” the summary reveals.

While Melissa battles it out with the moms, Abby will have some choice words for Maddie. In the preview, Maddie, 13, announces during pyramid that she doesn’t think “anyone can fully replace” her and her sister. Abby responds by sarcastically asking her student whether she believes the whole studio should “throw in the towel” because she’s leaving.

Despite the drama leading up to the farewell, the finale won’t conclude on a sour note. One “Dance Moms” spoiler site reported that Maddie managed to secure a big win during her final performance alongside her “Dance Moms” teammates. The team finished first in the group teen and overall competitions with its hip-hop routine “Lady Bosses,” while Maddie, 13, did likewise in the solo teen and overall contests with her contemporary “The Hostage.” Meanwhile, Mackenzie, 11, also finished first in the junior competition with her jazz solo “Hero,” but did not earn a spot in the overall ranks.

While the Ziegler family’s time on “Dance Moms” is coming to an end, the forthcoming episode won’t mark the last time its members will appear on the show. The sisters have filmed segments for the network’s reunion specials.

Catch “One Last Dance” on Lifetime Tuesday, May 3, at 9 p.m. EDT. Those who can’t wait for the finale can check out a leaked clip of Maddie and Mackenzie’s goodbye speeches here.
