Iconic singer Madonna turned 53 this week and celebrated with her 24-year-old French boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.

Madonna's two youngest children, David and Mercy, helped mom celebrate. The couple and children spent the birthday weekend at the Hamptons, where Madonna and Zaibat embraced and the children played in the sand, said the Los Angeles Times.

Zaibat, who is a dancer and DJ, met the pop legend in September 2010 when he performed at an event for the release of her clothing line.

Zaibat said he listened to Madonna's songs when he was a child; however, the Daily Mail last year said he told French magazine Grazia that  "It wasn't the kind of sound [he] had on [his] I-pod."

Zaibat said the couple share a love of dancing.

Madonna, who was born on Aug. 16, 1958, dominated the pop scene in the 1980s and has remained a fixture in American pop culture.

The singer has been married twice.  She has two biological children -- one with fitness trainer Carlos Leon and one with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.  She later adopted David and Mercy.
