Looks like Madonna meant it when she said “Papa don’t preach.” The star might have the reputation of a being a strict parent, but according to recent reports, the “Material Girl” is actually the lenient one.

Madge's 16-year-old daughter, Lourdes, a New York high school student, is complaining to her mom that her dad, Carlos Leon, is too strict, RadarOnline.com reported.

The 54-year-old entertainer had a brief fling with Leon in the 1990s, and the two have been parenting Lourdes, the only child they have together.

Lourdes has been dating “Homeland” star Timothee Chalamet for months, both teens go to school at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Us Weekly wrote.

A source close to Leon told RadarOnline.com, “You would think Madonna was the stricter parent, but she’s actually loosened the reins because she trusts Lourdes so much. On the other hand, Carlos is the watchful dad who’s laid down some very stern ground rules for his precious daughter.” The insider added that Madge used to be more rigid about Lourdes’ studies and manners, but “now she secretly gets a kick out of it when Lourdes complains to her about the curfew her dad’s imposed and all the embarrassing questions he asks her and Timothee. For a change, Madonna is not the mean parent!”

Lola and Chalamet were recently spotted New York’s Soho district holding hands and hugging. The young lovers reportedly switched jackets at one point and are starting to get serious, according to RadarOnline.com.

“Carlos trust Lourdes and he likes Timothee, but he also knows how young boys can get carried away,” the source added.

“He’s old school and he thinks putting a little fear into the boy dating your daughter is a good thing. Madonna just thinks it’s hilarious.”
