A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck south of the Indonesian island of Bali Thursday morning.

The United States Geological Survey said the earthquake occurred at 03:16:29 UTC at a depth of 35.1 km (21.8 miles) beneath the ocean floor at the epicenter located 100 km (62 miles) southwest of Denpasar, Bali.

Local media reported at least 50 injuries but no deaths. Radio reported cracks in some buildings and collapsed roofs.

Though no tsunami warning has been issued, the tremor was felt as far as Jakarta, which is 931 km (578 miles) from the epicenter, USGS said.
