With some traders using the weakness seen in the two previous sessions as an opportunity to buy stocks, the major averages have shown a notable upward move over the course of the first half-hour of trading on Wednesday.

The upward move by the broader markets reflects significant strength that has emerged in a variety of sectors. While networking, transportation, computer hardware, and retail stocks are posting notable gains, oil stocks are under pressure amid a decrease by the price of crude.

In recent trading, the major averages have pulled back off their highs for the young session, although they remain firmly positive. The Dow is currently up 49.62 at 7,839.18, the Nasdaq is up 23.22 at 1,584.83 and the S&P 500 is up 6.73 at 822.28.
