Stocks have shown a notable move to the downside over the course of the first half-hour of trading on Tuesday, with the major averages pulling back further off their recent highs after ending the previous session firmly in the red.

With traders expressing concerns about the outlook for the upcoming earnings season, a variety of sectors are showing notable moves to the downside. Housing, transportation, real estate, and wireless stocks are posting significant losses.

In recent trading the major averages have edged up off their lows for the young session, although they remain firmly negative. The Dow is currently down 152.68 at 7,823.17, the Nasdaq is down 28.15 at 1,578.56 and the S&P 500 is down 16.71 at 818.77.
