After opening nearly unchanged, stocks have continued to show a lack of direction over the course of the first half-hour of trading on Friday. The choppy trading comes as traders digest some weak employment that came roughly in line with economist estimates.

Despite the lackluster performance by the broader markets, significant weakness has emerged in the health insurance, biotechnology, and airline sectors. At the same time, some wireless, computer hardware, and energy stocks are posting notable gains.

The major averages have slipped back below the unchanged line in the past few minutes and are currently posting modest losses. The Dow is currently down 25.96 at 7,952.12, the Nasdaq is down 2.96 at 1,599.67 and the S&P 500 is down 2.14 at 832.24.
