RTTNews - Wednesday, Malawi's National Statistics Office announced that the headline inflation rate stood at 8.7% year-on-year in May, slowing from 9.2% in the previous month.
National food inflation has continued its downward spiral registering a drop of 7.4% on the month before. The decline in food prices is emanating mainly from seasonal forces at this time of the year, the statistical office said.
Similarly, the non-food inflation slowed to 10.1% in May from 10.3% in the previous month.
