Industrial production in Malaysia dropped 14.7% annually in February, at a slower pace compared to a revised 19.8% fall in January. Economists expected production to decline only 13.5%.

On an annual basis, manufacturing output slipped 18.8%, while mining output fell 7.3%. Production of electricity was down 3% in February.

Month-on-month, industrial output declined 3.7% in February, reflecting a 9.9% drop in mining output, a 0.7% fall in manufacturing output and a 0.2% decline in production of electricity.
