RTTNews - Malta's harmonized consumer price inflation stood at 2.8% in June, down from 3.4% recorded in May, the National Statistics Office said Wednesday. That was the lowest rate since October 2007, when inflation stood at 1.6%.

A year ago, annual inflation was 4.4%. On a monthly basis, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.1% in June.

According to the statistical agency, the monthly fall in the HICP was driven by a 1.6% decline in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages along with a 0.8% drop in transport charges.
