Mama June Shannon dropped a bombshell this week when she revealed that she has a new business and talent manager.

On Tuesday, the 42-year-old “Mama June: From Not to Hot” star took to Instagram to share a photo of celebrity brand and image consultant Tonia Ryan. In a lengthy caption, the Shannon matriarch revealed that she and Ryan will be working closely from now on.

“I am so happy and excited to announce that my new business and talent manager is [Tonia Ryan],” she wrote. “Tonia and I have been friends for almost eight years now, and we have worked on numerous projects throughout the years!”

Mama June continued, “Now, we get to work together ‘all the time,’ and we have so many new projects coming up! I can’t wait! This is going to be so much fun! Stay tuned friends for this new chapter of my life! So many exciting things to come!”

She concluded her post by expressing gratitude to the people who loved and supported her through the years despite the ups and downs. She also mentioned “new beginnings” in the hashtags she included in her post.

Mama June updated her Instagram bio to include Ryan’s user ID. The changes she made did not go unnoticed to her fans, who quickly voiced their approval in the comments.

“I am glad that you got rid of Gina. I never thought she had your best interest at heart,” one fan wrote, referring to Mama June’s former manager Gina Rodriguez.

“Yassss, bye Gina,” another user commented.

“Thank God!! Gina seemed like an opportunist,” a third user added.

Meanwhile, some shared their speculations on what happened between Mama June and Rodriguez. They also defended Rodriguez from the negative comments.

“I liked Gina, she didn’t take any bulls—t. [S]he probably got rid of June,” one user opined.

“Gina was hard on her, and June didn't like that,” a different netizen claimed.

“People [are] being rude about Gina, but she seemed cool. I liked her. But again, I don’t know what happened behind the scenes. Regardless, she’ll always be cool in my book,” another Instagram user wrote.

Earlier this year, Rodriguez made the headlines after voicing her interest in managing Simon Leviev, the man who inspired the Netflix documentary “Tinder Swindler.”

In February, Leviev officially signed with Rodriguez. According to the talent manager, she got intrigued after watching the documentary, so she was eager to give Leviev a platform to share his side of the story.

Though it’s not clear why Mama June and Rodriguez parted ways, the two of them are still working together since the latter remains one of the executive producers of the current season of Mama June’s reality series, according to NextSeasonTV.

“Mama June: Road to Redemption” Season 6 premiered last week. The show airs new episodes every Friday at 9 p.m. EDT on We TV.
