‘Mama June: From Not To Hot’: Alana Teaches Mom How To Twerk

Mama June Shannon’s training for the beauty pageant is in full swing when “Mama June: From Not To Hot” Season 2 returns to WE tv this week. Based on a newly released teaser, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is going to teach her mother how to twerk for the pageant’s talent portion.

In the new snippet from “Mama June: From Not To Hot” Season 2 over Facebook, the 12-year-old reality star is seen zealously teaching her 38-year-old mother the things that she could do to impress the judges. “See if you can do these kind of things,” Alana tells Mama June before she gets into position to twerk and make weird faces in front of her mother.

Mama June, who is taken aback by what her youngest daughter is suggesting for her talent, quickly lets out, “Ahh! Negative! We’re not sitting at a damn strip club.” The clip then cuts to the sit-down interview of the mother and daughter wherein Honey Boo Boo gives an advance to her mother saying, “June, ‘Confidence’ should be your middle name, so it should go like June ‘Confidence’ Shannon, and she’s gotta know how to work it.”

Ahead of Season 2’s premiere, it was already revealed that Mama June is turning the tables after her 300-pound transformation. In last week’s episode, Mama June began her training for a beauty pageant with the help of none other than her daughter Alana, who is already a veteran in such pageants at a young age.

The training started with Honey Boo Boo showing her mother how to walk in high heels like beauty queens do. Unfortunately, Mama June was not too pleased about this, since she said she’s incapable of walking around tall shoes because of some unfortunate events that damaged her feet in the past. Still, Alana wanted her mom to be ready for the big day, so she coached her on how to do the pageant walk anyway.

Meanwhile, Mama June set the record straight on why Alana doesn’t do pageants anymore. According to the mom of four, the “Toddlers & Tiaras” star is now in no position to prepare and join beauty competitions due to her tight schedule. “Honestly, she’s more busy with life. It’s like with everything going on: production, school — this life in general; it gets hard and pageants are a lot of work.”
