A pregnant woman stabbed her boyfriend for looking at a photo of another woman on his roommate’s phone. The incident took place in Florida on Thursday.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of stabbing at a home in Zephyrhills. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a five-inch steak knife and a shirt covered in blood. They also noticed a pregnant woman, 25-year-old Julitza Emily Gonzalez, moving around anxiously.

The victim's roommate told officials that he had showed the victim a photo of a woman he wanted to date, following which Gonzalez, the victim’s girlfriend who was also present in the room, started arguing with him. The roommate, whose identity was not revealed, left the room as the disagreement continued. After a while, he heard someone looking for something in the kitchen. A few moments later, the victim barged into his room with a stab wound to his stomach, Fox 13 reported.

The roommate immediately called 911 and used a shirt to apply pressure to the wound. As the two waited for the paramedics to arrive, Gonzalez entered the room and asked, “Why would you look at that girl on the phone?"

The first responders arrived and airlifted the victim to a nearby hospital. Gonzalez, who was also showing signs of anxiety, was taken to another local hospital.

During police interrogation at the hospital, the accused denied stabbing her boyfriend and said he must have fallen on the blade. Doctors attending to her boyfriend, however, confirmed that the stab wound was not from an accident. The condition of the victim was unknown.

The accused was taken into custody and charged with “aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.” The investigation was ongoing.

In a similar incident in January this year, an Indiana woman stabbed her boyfriend after accusing him of cheating. Ebony Edwards called her boyfriend from work and accused him of cheating on her. She then stabbed him in the head and throat. The court records stated that the two were in a on-and-off relationship and though Edwards wanted the relationship to work out, her boyfriend wanted to end it because of her temper issues. She was taken into custody and charged with “domestic battery and criminal confinement," the NW Times reported.
