There are other players for David Moyes to worry about other that Wayne Rooney, and the new Manchester United boss has reportedly targeted Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Intrigued by the 24-year-old German, and also contemplating the addition of a creative midfielder since losing out on Cesc Fabregas, Moyes is about to launch a £30 million bid for Ozil, according to Daily Star. While he and Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti want him to stay at the Bernabeu, Ozil is reportedly worried about an already crowded midfield welcoming Gareth Bale into the fold. A record-breaking deal has been imminent for weeks for the Welshman, and Ozil wants to stay sharp for Germany’s national team.

Also, the price for Ozil may be a bit too low, considering the Daily Mail cited a £38 million asking price for the player. He’s netted 19 goals in 103 appearances for Madrid since 2010, and his skills could ensure United stays atop the Premier League this season.

Ozil also isn’t the only Madrid midfielder worried about his playing time, which could be to the Red Devils benefit. Argentine Angel Di Maria is one of the most coveted assets around the world, and according to Marca, the Bernabeu believes they can raise upwards of £34 million from United, Arsenal, or Paris Saint-Germain.

Landing Ozil or Di Maria would be splash moves for Moyes, and could get his tenure back on the right foot considering all the drama surrounding Rooney. United have only brought in defender Guillermo Varela, and have failed to pull the trigger on a number players linked to them. The pair of Madrid stars would make up for plenty of lost ground.

Marca also reported that United are considering versatile winger Fabio Coentrao. Since bouncing around on loan with four clubs back in 2008 and 2009, the 25-year-old has been less nomadic with Madrid, making 36 appearances and netting one goal in two years.
