Following the signing of Robin van Persie, Manchester United appeared to have finished their summer transfer moves, but two young defenders have been linked to the Red Devils.

The Red Devils may have some extra resources to pursue talent, as they appear set to move Dimitar Berbatov to Fulham, according to ESPN. Berbatov might exit the club at the same time as Federico Macheda, as the Italian striker is a loan-target for Turkish club Bursaspor, according to the Daily Mail.

Manchester United may not be targeting big names ahead of the closing of the transfer window on Friday, but they appear to have their eye on the future.

Liam Moore, a 19-year-old defender who plays for Leicester City, is on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar, according to Daily Mirror. United may face compeititon for his signature, though, with Everton also thought to be interested.

Moore is capable of playing right back and center back, and has started each of the Foxes' three Championship games so far this campaign after spending the first-half of last season on-loan at League 2 side Bradford.

An even younger option is Kurt Zouma. The 17-year-old central defender plays in Ligue 1, and has aleady established himself as a first-team regular with Saint-Etienne. The Sun reported that the Red Devils were interested in making a £9 million offer for the French starlet.

Zoumba, who has been capped at Under-19 level for France, has also been pursued by Aston Villa.

Ferguson might be interested in developing younger talent as the club attempts to find replacements for Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, as both center backs are in their 30s.
