If rumors are to be believed, Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are set to lure away German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund's Japanese attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa when the transfer window opens in summer.

Kagawa, 23, is expected to leave the German club at the end of the season and Borussia themselves are looking to make a move for French Ligue 1 side Sochaux's midfielder Marvin Martin. If Kagawa eventually ends up leaving the club, then United could be his next destination.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has always been known to bring unsung players to Old Trafford and transforming them into world class players, and if Kagawa makes the move, he will only become the second Asian player in the United roster after South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung.

However, United will be keen to bring Kagawa to England as the player, according to a Talksport report, has already claimed that it would be a dream for him to play in the Old Trafford. Although Kagawa has a contract at Dortmund until 2013, the Japanese international seems reluctant to sign a new deal with the club.

Kagawa, who arrived from Japanese League Division 1 club Cerezo Osaka in 2010, has made a total of 68 appearances for the Jurgen Klopp managed Westfalenstadion-based club and has managed to score 28 times in all competitions.
