Marc Anthony recently announced the death of his mom, Guillermina Quiñones, via his Twitter account on Friday, July 28.

In the singer’s post, Anthony expressed his grief over his mom’s shocking demise and said that she was the angel, hero, rock, protector and inspiration of their entire family. Just a few days before her death, Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband had asked his fans to pray for his mom on Sunday. As of late, Anthony has not yet revealed the real cause of his mom’s death.

But according to Univision, Quiñones was hospitalized in Puerto Rico, and Anthony and his girlfriend, Raffaella Modugno, had been visiting her regularly. The singer, who is a father to Lopez’s twins, is currently on his “Full Circle” tour, but his next show is scheduled for Aug. 4 in Colombia and Aug. 5 in Medellin, according to Entertainment Tonight. Anthony has not announced the cancellation of any of his upcoming shows.

Lopez also has not said whether or not she and her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, and her twins, Max and Emme, will be attending the wake of Anthony’s mother. Lopez and Anthony have maintained an amicable relationship since their divorce.

In 2016, the “Vivir Mi Vida” singer admitted that he regrets not being able to spend as much time with his twins because of his very busy schedule. “The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time. What I would have done to have been a stay at home dad, and, you know, witnessed every second of everything. I would have loved that. Didn’t work out that way,” he said on CBS’ “Sunday Morning” (via US Weekly).

Anthony also has two sons from his previous marriage to beauty queen Dayanara Torres. In 2014, the case that Torres filed against Anthony was settled. The music producer was asked to pay $14,340 per month for child support, including a $12,000 contribution per year for vacation expenses. The court also ordered Anthony to pay for his two sons’ educational and medical costs and extracurricular activities, according to Latina.
