Maria Shriver has filed for divorce from husband Arnold Schwarzenegger months after she learned of an affair and out of wedlock son fathered by him with a one-time member of the household staff.

Shriver cited irreconcilable differences in a filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Shriver has requested joint custody of her two minor children Patrick and Christopher. She is also asking for Schwarzenegger to pay for attorney fees and costs, according to KABC.

She is also seeking spousal support.
