Singer Mariah Carey has split from her backup dancer boyfriend Bryan Tanaka after confirming about her relationship in February. The split happened as Tanaka was allegedly jealous over Carey's closeness to her ex-husband Nick Cannon, reports said Monday.

Carey and Cannon took their twins to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last month, and this angered Tanaka as he felt that this display "disrespected" him. Meanwhile, Carey was also upset over paying the bills for Tanaka's expensive purchases of brands like Gucci and Balmain, and he is always on the lookout for exorbitant watches and chains in the market, according to TMZ.

Carey has been married twice and has had several boyfriends over the years.

In 1993, Carey married Tommy Mottola, the former head of Sony, who was 20 years her senior, in a lavish ceremony worth half a million dollars. The guest list included legendary stars like Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen and Robert De Niro. However, things soon turned sour and the pair divorced in 1997. Carey described her four-year marriage as a "private hell" and claimed Mottola abused her "mentally and emotionally."

From June 2015, Carey was dating James Packer, a billionaire Australian businessman, when the couple was spotted hand in hand. A source told People a few days later that both of them were "enjoying spending time with each other.” They split in October last year.

Prior to that, Carey was married to Cannon since 2008 and got separated in 2014. The former "America's Got Talent" host, who has two children with Carey, filed for divorce on Dec. 12, 2014, in New York. The move to end their six-year marriage came months after turmoil in their relationship, according to reports.

From 2005 to 2006, Carey dated model Christian Monzon. In the course of their relationship, they also filmed several steamy scenes together in her music video, "Don't Forget About Us."

In the 2000s, Carey was rumored to have been dating former Formula One Managing Director Flavio Briatore.

In 2001, after Eminem met with Carey to discuss a possible collaboration for her "Charmbracelet" album, the couple allegedly began dating. In 2002, when Eminem was asked about a possible relationship with the "Hero" singer, he answered, "There's truth to that. But on the whole personal level, I'm not really feeling it. I just don't like her as a person," according to reports.
