New images were released by the Onslow County Sheriff’s office in connection to the Mariah Woods disappearance case after midnight on Wednesday, as the police continue to search for the 3-year-old toddler from Jacksonville, North Carolina, who went missing on Sunday.

The images in question were posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page, which showed a brown-haired toddler being carried by a woman, who is dressed in a green-colored top, grey pants and red shoes. The post states that the images were obtained by the law enforcement on Monday at 9:30 a.m. EST in the Wal-Mart store in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Since the photos seem to be taken from a single angle, the face of the little girl perched on the hip of the woman is not clear. Hence, the sheriff’s office, which has joined the FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment in search for Mariah, has reached out to the public for assistance in determining whether the toddler in the pictures is Mariah and for any information that can help them identify the woman, carrying the kid.

If the child in the photo is identified beyond doubt to be Mariah, the woman accompanying her could be a potential suspect, since Mariah reportedly went missing after 11 p.m. EST Sunday, which is when her mother put her to bed, according to ABC affiliate Eyewitness News.

The girl’s grandmother was the one who initially discovered that Mariah was not in her room when she went to check in on her in the morning. There were no signs of any unlawful entry into the Woods’ residence, which was occupied by her boyfriend and her other two children at the time that Mariah went missing.

Kristy Woods, Mariah's mother, then reached out to the public to help her with her daughter's whereabouts. "Please, bring her back. She's my baby, she's my everything," Woods said in a press conference. "Just to be able to touch her and hold her and not let her go again. I'd give anything."

Following the suspected abduction, an amber alert was issued by the FBI for a 3-year-old white female, with blue eyes and brown hair, standing at 2'9" and weighing 30 pounds. According to her grandmother, Mariah walked with orthopedic braces on both feet.

"Every second counts when a child is missing, especially after the cold night we just had," Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller told reporters Tuesday. "No piece of information is too small or insignificant."

K-9 units and helicopters provided by the Marine Corps, along with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol had been scouring the wooded area of Camp Lejeune near her home where Mariah was last seen, in an extensive search.

Anyone with information about the pictures released or Mariah's location can contact the Onslow County Sheriff at (910) 455-3113 or drop a tip via Text-A-Tip by typing TIP4CSJAX and your message to 274637 (CRIMES). Authorities have offered a $2,500 reward for valuable information regarding the case.
