Seattle rookie pitcher Michael Pineda showed some All-Star pitching as he delivered a win for the Mariners with a 2-1 performance over the Athletics in Oakland Coliseum. Pineda pitched six innings only allowing two hits and one run. He tallied seven strikeouts and two walks.

Offense showed little support mustering only two runs for Seattle, but it was enough thanks to Pinada's 92 pitch contribution, the bullpen was able to secure and close out the game.

He looked like a very mature pitcher out there today, said Mariners manager Eric Wedge. He's looked like that all year long.

Seattle will continue on with their seven game road trip as they try to reach the .500 mark with a victory today.
