EUR/USD - 1.3633.. Breaking news from Reuters, ECB's executive board member Bini Smaghi was quoted on a Monday's talk show on Italian TV n said 'the euro was solid n had shielded members of the common currency bloc from the financial crisis'. Euro rose in Asian morning on talk of active buying by Asian names & sovereign accounts, presumably for position adjustment rather than spec buying. Bids have been raised to 1.3600-1.3590, a mixture of stops n offers are touted abv y'day's 1.3655 high.
