FXstreet.com (CÃ³rdoba) - U.S. markets ended with gains on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.75% and the Nasdaq 1%, after manufacturing data suggested that the recession may soon be over. Crude-oil also rose and ended again above $72 a barrel. Greenback lost ground during the American session. The Swiss Franc was among the best performers.
EUR/USD currently is back above 1.4250. During the American session the pair was able to reach fresh weekly highs at 1.4274.
GBP/USD recovered from early losses and rose above 1.6500, but failed to get closer to intra-day high at 1.6602. The pair found support at 1.6500 in the last hours.
The Swiss Franc was among the best performers across the board. USD/CHF fell to a fresh intra-week low at 1.0615 (which is also the lowest price since August 7). Greenback pulled back from the bottom but found resistance at 1.0640.
